Job description

We are seeking experienced marine tourism operators to provide submersible tour services at the Cancún Underwater Museum (MUSA), one of the world’s most unique artificial reef systems. The project involves offering guided underwater experiences to tourists using small submersibles and underwater scooters, ensuring both passenger safety and high-quality guest experiences.The scope of work includes:
  • Operating tourist-class submersibles and scooters to safely transport visitors through designated underwater routes.
  • Providing interpretive guidance and narration, highlighting the cultural, artistic, and ecological significance of MUSA’s submerged sculptures.
  • Ensuring strict safety protocols for passengers, including pre-dive orientation, onboard communication, and emergency readiness.
  • Conducting basic underwater site monitoring to ensure that tours do not disturb marine life or damage artificial reef structures.
  • Delivering photography and video services for guests as an added-value offering.
The project is expected to require a team of 4 service providers, including submersible pilots, tour guides, safety divers, and guest service specialists. Providers must demonstrate prior experience in marine tourism operations and possess certifications in passenger safety and underwater operations.Deliverables must include:
  • A tour operations plan, including safety procedures and passenger guidelines.
  • A reporting log of tours conducted, including passenger numbers and operational notes.
  • End-of-project recommendations for enhancing the visitor experience while maintaining site sustainability.
Environmental sensitivity is a core requirement. Operators must strictly adhere to the Marine Park’s environmental protection policies, avoiding physical contact with sculptures and ensuring no waste or pollutants are introduced into the water.This project represents an opportunity for marine tourism specialists to contribute to one of Mexico’s flagship ecotourism destinations.
