Job description

We are seeking qualified marine service providers to perform hull and propeller maintenance on a bulk carrier currently docked at the Port of Miami. The vessel has been in operation for over 16 months without a full underwater service, and recent inspections have indicated a buildup of marine growth on both the hull plating and propeller blades. The project scope includes:
  • Comprehensive hull cleaning to remove barnacles, algae, and other marine growth.
  • Propeller polishing to restore efficiency and improve fuel performance.
  • Antifouling treatment touch-ups in localized areas where coating has deteriorated.
  • Inspection and replacement of sacrificial anodes where visible wear is noted.
  • Final integrity inspection of hull plating to identify any potential corrosion or damage that may require future attention.
The provider must use certified commercial divers equipped with appropriate cleaning tools and underwater cameras. HD video and photographic evidence of the “before” and “after” conditions will be required to validate the work performed. A detailed technical report summarizing tasks, observations, and recommendations for long-term maintenance must also be submitted upon completion.Environmental considerations are critical for this project. All work must be carried out in compliance with U.S. Coast Guard regulations and Port of Miami environmental standards to ensure that debris, paint particles, or cleaning agents do not contaminate local waters. Providers with prior experience working in major U.S. ports will be prioritized. The expected duration for this project is 3 weeks from mobilization to delivery of the final report. Timely execution is essential to minimize downtime for the vessel and ensure it can return to service with optimal performance. We are looking for a service provider that can demonstrate both technical expertise and a strong safety record while offering reliable post-service reporting. This project represents an excellent opportunity for contractors to support essential vessel maintenance and ensure compliance with international shipping standards while contributing to the smooth operations of one of the busiest ports in the United States.
