Job description

We are seeking experienced aquaculture support providers to conduct a comprehensive net and cage inspection at a large-scale salmon farming site located near Bergen, Norway. With increasing demand for sustainable seafood, it is essential to ensure that the farm’s infrastructure and stock management systems remain in excellent condition. This project will focus on assessing, cleaning, and reporting on all major aquaculture net systems, as well as ensuring that water quality and stock health meet regulatory and operational standards. The scope of work includes:
  • Performing ROV-assisted inspections of net pens and mooring systems to detect signs of wear, biofouling, or structural compromise.
  • Cleaning nets and cages to remove excessive marine growth, which can impact water circulation and fish health.
  • Conducting water quality testing, including dissolved oxygen, salinity, and pH levels, with weekly reports over the project period.
  • Documenting stock behavior and feeding efficiency to identify any anomalies in fish activity that could indicate underlying issues.
  • Providing repair recommendations where structural weaknesses are detected, with optional follow-up support for net replacement or reinforcement.
Deliverables must include HD video and photographic documentation of net and cage conditions, a comprehensive water quality dataset, and a final summary report with actionable recommendations for ongoing farm management. Providers with experience in aquaculture compliance standards in Norway will be prioritized.Environmental considerations are central to this project. Providers must ensure that inspection and cleaning methods do not release harmful materials into the marine environment. Coordination with farm staff will be essential to minimize operational disruption while inspections and cleaning are performed. This project requires at least 3 service providers to cover simultaneous tasks across multiple cages, with one team focusing on ROV inspections, another on cleaning and maintenance, and the third on water quality monitoring. Providers should demonstrate proven aquaculture support experience and the ability to deliver consistent results across a 4-month project duration. This is a valuable opportunity for aquaculture specialists to contribute to sustainable food production while supporting one of Norway’s most advanced salmon farming operations.
